Polska Federacja Pokera Sportowego (Polish Federation of Poker Sports)

The Polska Federacja Pokera Sportowego (PFPS) is currently fighting some very restrictive new legislation making it difficult to run tournaments economically and legally. Tournament licence fees are prohibitively high and 25% of all players’ winnings must be withheld by the tournament organisers for tax.

However, PSPF still has an active dialogue with government decision makers and is working hard to secure legislative changes which would mean Polish poker tournaments would once again become viable. PSPF has expressed a willingness to co-operate with lawmakers and hopes soon to see the rebirth of Polish poker as a sport rather than gambling activity.
