From the President

A strong attendance from member-countries and prospective members across three continents helped make an inspiring success of our second annual Congress here in Las Vegas.

After a few words of welcome, I made a presentation outlining the successes of our first year, not least the growth in IFP's numbers and the membership of IMSA (the International Mind Sports Association) achieved in Dubai in April.

Six member-nations will be sending teams to China next year for the first World Mind Games organized by SportAccord, of whom we hope to secure membership by IFP's next Congress

Our marketing partner, Patrick Nally, outlined his plans for sponsorship and marketing once our national and international tournaments are up and running next year. More detailed proposals for these were revealed by IFP's Executive Director, Oliver Chubb.

There followed a vigorous 90-minute debate of enormous value to our thinking about IFP membership, tournament structures and many other issues. Before we all retired to the bar, Danish president Thomas Thang moved a touching vote of congratulation on our productive first year,

Talks in Vegas have also brought us much closer to a US member-Federation, along with numerous other countries. So I plan to post more exciting announcements here soon!

Anthony Holden - President, IFP
